Elders Corner – 11/18
“How are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!’” (v. 15). ~Romans 10:15
We are in the process of updating our facility so that we can best use it for ministry today and into the future. We’ve laid the groundwork for upgraded network and security capabilities. We’re purging our storage areas in order to optimize the use of our spaces. We’re preparing for a move and remodel of our nursery. All of these are necessary pieces of the vision God has impressed upon us. But these are not the biggest piece. The most important part is the people of God growing in love and boldness to speak the Gospel— the good news of Jesus substitutionary death on the cross and a right relationship with the Father!
So, we have this preschool & daycare. We have 180 kids and a couple of hundred other family members represented in the very halls of this facility weekly. I have heard an estimation that about half of these souls are unchurched. Do we truly believe that they need to know the same saving grace that we have come to know? Do we care? How much? To what lengths are we willing to go so that those who are far from Christ might come to a saving, life-changing, eternal relationship with our loving God? How far would you go??
We can clean up, update and bring more safety and security to our facilities, and that will greatly improve the quality of our preschool & daycare. But our ultimate goal is not to have the best daycare in town (though that may be a by-product). If there is not a clear connection to the Gospel that can bring salvation and life transformation, it is all for naught.
The Next Step…
We will be meeting in the Fireside Room this evening from 4:30-6:00pm. Will you come and be a part of this discussion? We believe the Lord can help us discover His mind and will through His body, and we want to pray and talk about life on life possibilities to reach Little Wellspring families with the Gospel. We hope to see you there!
On behalf of your Elders,
