Wellspring Bible Fellowship is a vertical church. We find our greatest joy in the glory of our crucified and risen Lord. The worship of Jesus is preeminent always because He is the supreme treasure of the universe and worthy of all glory. This is why we are committed to an unrelenting pursuit of God’s presence, unashamed praise of His name, unapologetic preaching of His Word, unceasing prayer in the Spirit, and unafraid proclamation of the gospel. We want every gathering, ministry, and relationship to be vertically focused on Christ: in awe of Him, motivated for Him, empowered by Him, to joyfully make much of Him. “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen” (Rom 11:36).
~Pastor Bryan
I. God is a Person who has revealed Himself as a Trinity in unity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit-three persons and yet is one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 8:6).
II. The Bible, including both the Old and New Testaments, is a Divine revelation, the original texts of which were verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21).
III. Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God. This is to say, He is Himself God; He took upon Himself our nature, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary; He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sin of the world; He rose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified; He ascended into heaven in that glorified body, where He is now, interceding as our High Priest; He will come again before the millennium, personally, and visibly to set up His Kingdom and to judge the quick and the dead. (Colossians 1:19; Philippians 2:9-8; Matthew 1:18-29; I Peter 2:24-29; Luke 24; Hebrews 11:19-17, 20:4-6 11-19).
IV. Man was created in the image of God, but sinned, and thereby is lost. This is true of all men, and “except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ, “who His own self bore our sins in His own body on the tree.” Nothing can separate true believers from the love of God, but they are kept by the power of God, through faith, unto salvation. The sure proof of this is their patient continuance and progress in righteousness and true holiness. The retribution of the wicked and unbelieving and the reward of the righteous are everlasting, and as the reward is conscious, so is the retribution. (Genesis 1:26, 27; Romans 3:10:23; John 3:3; Acts 13:38, 39; Acts 1:6-8; John 10:27-29; Acts 4:12; John 3:16; Matthew 29:46; II Corinthians 9:1; II Thessalonians 1:7-10).
V. The Church is an elect company of believers baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body. Its mission is to witness concerning its Head, Jesus Christ, by preaching the Gospel among all nations. It will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air when He appears to set up His Kingdom. The local Church is a body of immersed believers associated together for work, worship, and fellowship. It is independent and autonomous and is free from all ecclesiastical or political interference. (Acts 2:41, 19:13-17; Ephesians 1:3-6; I Corinthians 12:12, 13; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:6-8; I Thessalonians 4:16-18)
