Saturday evening our local First United Methodist “Church” of Roseburg hosted a concert for a lesbian choir from Eugene. As ambassadors of Jesus Christ, we showed up to both preach the gospel and oppose the promotion of society-destroying sin. Some might question why we would do such a thing, especially many Christians who think that the way to win the world is to be loved by the world. But we understand that like Ezekiel, God has called us to be watchmen on the wall blowing the trumpet and warning of the sword of God’s judgment falling upon our city. God told Ezekiel “I have made you a watchman…Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from Me. If I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand” (Ez 33:7-8).

Christian, has God not given us a word about LGBT iniquity being deserving of eternal death? “Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor the homosexual…will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Cor 6:9-10). Will we be faithful to warn them of what God says or be found guilty of their blood when they perish in their iniquity? And it is not just those who practice LGBT iniquity that deserve eternal death but those “who give approval to those who practice them” (Rom 1:32). That means our city as a whole, which has declared June “Pride Month,” is guilty, as are the vast majority of residents and so-called Christians who have said and done nothing to warn the wicked.

All we get is at best “empty words” from pastors and conservatives from the safety of their church building or YouTube channel. But Paul says “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience” (Eph 5:6). The wrath of God is coming and has come upon our city, evidenced by the celebration of debauchery and our so-called “conservative” Sheriff enforcing the woke lie of transgenderism in our jails.

When will people wake up to the woke? When will the people of God wake up to the spiritual battle raging in the heavenliness and see that the church was meant to be a battleship, not a cruise ship? When will Christians realize that God’s Word is a lion that needs no defending, it only needs to be “uncaged” from the four walls of the church and heralded in the public square?

But be prepared: When you do “uncage” the Word of God in the public, there will be serious opposition. One thing that the whole world shares in common is opposition to Christ, because no matter the belief system, behind it all is Satan at war with God. And Satan’s strategy from the beginning has been for the “offspring of the serpent” to persecute the “offspring of the woman” (Gen 3:15). Saturday we had the police called by the “inclusive-of-all-but-us” United Methodists in an attempt to arrest us and silence our message. The spokesperson for the UMC seemed to know who I am and that I had previously been cited for using amplification at their PRIDE event last summer. But what they may not know is that a Judge in Douglas County just overturned that citation and defended our right to use amplification as an equally valid “organized event.”

To my surprise, the police officer didn’t care and still threatened to cite us for our preaching. I have since contacted the Chief of Police asking for a meeting so that we can clarify our intentions and seek his commitment to protect our constitutional rights as we do outreach this summer. But no matter the outcome of that meeting, we will not and cannot stop preaching the gospel. As a church, we have counted the cost and are ready to suffer for the truth of Jesus Christ and for seeking first His kingdom. Will you join us?
